A Dry Bowser Brings A Little Of The Undead To Ultimate

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate's Best Custom Skins (1)

This undead skeletal Bowser skin combines the look of a classic Dry Bones enemy with the big boss Bowser and ends up with something that definitely needs to be taken down by some of the other Smash Bros. Ultimate characters. This skin was created by JoeT.E. on GameBanana and replaces the in-game Bowser's costume slots. It includes several colors and updated fire effects. Dry Bowser originally appeared in New Super Mario Bros. U after falling into a pool of lava and burning off his skin. While Bowser deserves his own video game, having modders recreate him in his alternate forms, where they can, will suffice for now. This iconic variant of Mario's enemy deserves a spot in the Smash lineup and is expertly crafted with detailed facial expressions and more.

Smash Ultimate Needed The Gender-bent Bowser: Bowsette

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate's Best Custom Skins (2)

It seems only fitting to have a fan-made mod in Smash Ultimate of a fan-made character from the Mario universe. Bowsette is the anthropomorphized, gender-swapped version of Bowser which has gained a cult following of her own after being created by artist Haniwa on Twitter for a comic strip, though she was never picked up by Nintendo. This custom skin by Dreamer13sq on GameBanana is a reskinned version of Daisy and features seven variations with different hair, dress, and umbrella colors.

God Of War's Kratos Should Make Any Smash Character Hide In Fear

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate's Best Custom Skins (3)

PlayStation's iconic and easily recognizable face of the God of War franchise, Kratos appearing in Smash Bros. Ultimate is certainly a different story from actual mythology, but one that will make all God of War fans smile. This epic crossover brings the god of war to Smash with a reskin of the character Ike. Created by AustinTheBear on GameBanana, it adds both the standard Kratos and an armored version. It has even been meticulously crafted to alter Kirby's appearance when fighting against Kratos so that if he were to take on Kratos's appearance, then Kirby gains Kratos' beard and axe.

Sonic's Amy Rose Commands Attention In Smash Ultimate Battles

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate's Best Custom Skins (4)

Also known as Rosy The Rascal, Amy Rose is a cheerful hedgehog with a major crush on her pal Sonic. Her Piko Piko Hammer is included with this custom skin by Xecho88 on GameBanana, where she is actually a reskinned version of Ike. She has been resized, however, to better match the dimensions of her beau, Sonic, so that friendly battles between the two of them work well.

Wind Waker's Tetra Is A Perfect Fit For Smash Ultimate

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate's Best Custom Skins (5)

This adorable Zelda: Wind Waker fan art custom skin creation adds Tetra to Smash and makes one wonder why she isn't already in the game. Tetra is the pirate-leading princess from TheWind Waker, and is a powerful combatant in her own right. This variation of her look is designed after her role in Hyrule Warriors and was modded by SmashAlternate on GameBanana. The Tetra custom skin is a reskin of Toon Link and can include her cutlass, a ship wheel, a barrel shield, and more, or can utilize the weapons of Toon Link instead.

Smash Bros. With Master Chief Is the Ultimate Crossover

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate's Best Custom Skins (6)

Halo's famous Master Chief seems a bit out of his element when contrasting his full armor and guns to the likes of the pink puffball Kirby. As a fighting game, the addition of Master Chief makes it the ultimate crossover and one that many Halo fans will appreciate. Unlike the Halo Master Chief skin for Fall Guys this skin is designed with all the battle moves and abilities to take down the Smash Ultimate opponents. The first mod ever created by 5dollarfootluong on GameBanana, this custom skin goes over the game's version of Snake and even includes some victory fanfare sounds.

Animal Crossing's Isabelle Takes Charge In Smash As A McDonald's Employee

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate's Best Custom Skins (7)

Why is Isabelle from Animal Crossing dressed as a McDonald's employee? It doesn't have to make sense to still be a fun and clever mod. This bizarre-yet-cute custom skin not only includes Isabelle dressed in her fast food uniform, but also features accessories in her attacks: a soda, small fries, big macs, chicken nuggets, an ice cream machine, pom-poms, and even the McDonald's jingle. This creative mashup was designed by Devory on GameBanana.

The internet is full of talented and imaginative folks who thankfully are willing to share their clever creations with the rest of the world. There are many characters that could be added to Smash Bros. within the catalog of games that Nintendo has rights to, but until Nintendo officially adds them, modders are there to fill the void. Custom skins and other mods can breathe new life into games such as Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and can put a smile on players' faces.
